Laure
de Marcellus has been named one of ABOF's scholarship
winners to Deutsche Oper Berlin for the 2000-2001 music season.
Ms. de Marcellus, who sings in French, German, Spanish, Italian
and English is equally at home in the operatic, orchestral
and recital repertoire. Prior to beginning her engagement
in Berlin, she will sing in July and August, the title role
of Carmen in Geneva and in Bourg-en-Bresse, and also sing
a song recital in Geneva and be heard as a soloist for Beethoven's
"Mass in C" in Austria. Ms. de Marcellus, who studies
with the former Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Mignon Dunn,
excels in the Rossini and Handel repertoire in addition to
singing operas of Gluck, Mozart and roles of both R. and J.
Strauss. |
