Anne-Marie Seager
Anne-Marie Seager Mezzo Soprano Anne-Marie Seager has been singing with the Juilliard Opera Center in its 1998-1999 season. Her roles have included Octavian, Dorabella, Rosina, and Romeo (I Capuleti e I Montecchi). Most recently, she performed a new work by composer Michael Spassov with the Juilliard Orchestra on March 26th, and a recital of French Mélodies on April 6th; both performances in Alice Tully Hall.

The recipient of a 1997 Marilyn Horne Foundation Award, her New York solo recital Debut took place at the Kosciuszko Foundation (April 25th) and was broadcast on 96.3 FM WQXR on May 15th. She has also been featured in recital in New York City with the Penderecki string quartet in May 1998, and in chamber music series across the country, such as The Huntsville Chamber Music Guild and the Port Washington Music Advisory Council.

As a winner of the 27th Annual Artists International Voice Award, Ms. Seager will appear in recital on February 5th 2000 at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. Other New york appearances this past season have included an evening of opera at Weill Recital Hall on June 11th with New York Vocal Artists and a recital at Columbia's Milbank Chapel as a winner of the 1999 New York Singing Teacher's Association Competition. She is also a winner of the 1996 Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition, of the Prix Lyrique from the Concours de Musique Française and a two-time winner of the NATS Competition.

At the Music Academy of the West, Santa Barbara, in 1997 and 1998, Ms. Seager sang the roles of Maddalena (Il viaggio a Rheims), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Carmen. She returns to the Music Academy this summer to sing the role of Unulfo in Handel's Rodelinda.

The Mezzo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Voice Performance from McGill University, and an Advanced Certificate from The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Ms. Cynthia Hoffmann, with whom she continues to study.
